"such short little lives our pets have to spend with us, and they spend most of it waiting for us to come home each day. it is amazing how much love and laughter they bring into our lives and even how much closer we become with each other because of them."
it’s been a minute.
well it’s been more like hours, days, weeks and over a month since i last posted on this fine blog of mine.
but never fear, i’m back!
for now ;)
earlier this month, j and i traveled back to our home away from home.
we’re fortunate enough to have grown up in the same town so that makes trips home a whole hell of a lot easier.
being home was a blast!
we ate lots of good food, drank lots of good booze and did things we can’t do in sucky north carolina.
but best of all, we spent hours and hours of great quality time with our family.
family means the world to me.
especially these two:
my grandparents are my rocks.
they patiently answer my 11pm crying phone calls and just let me cry it out until i’m calm enough to form complete sentences.
they are the first family members i call to share good news with or vent about a frustrating day.
being 1,000 miles away from them is so very difficult so i treasure all the time i get to share with them.
back to the recap…
we went out to eat a lot::
and made more than one trip to the ah-mazing baker’s square::
we took airport selfies with my broski while waiting for his german friend to land in chicago::
we also went to medival times which was so much fun and so worth the stupidly expensive tickets::
it was an awesome trip home and i’m so happy i got to spend so much time with my loved ones, especially this guy::
’til next time,
oh hi! it’s been a minute. well it’s been more like hours, days, weeks and over a month since i last posted on this fine blog of mine.
How beautiful to find a heart that loves you, without asking you for anything, but to be okay.
